The Inland Revenue Department today issued an alert on a fraudulent website and a fake email account.

The domain name of the fraudulent website is http://ird-govhk.info/www.ird.gov.hk, while the fake email account is taxfaq@ird-govhk.info.

The department said it has no connection with the fraudulent website and the email account.

It reported the case to Police for further investigation and reminded people not to visit the fraudulent website or open any suspicious emails sent from the email account.
