Clubhouse operators to get subsidy

May 12, 2020

The Government today announced that the disbursement of subsidies under the Club-house Subsidy Scheme under the Anti-epidemic Fund has started.

The scheme provides a one-off subsidy of $100,000 to clubhouse operators with valid Certificates of Compliance issued under the Clubs (Safety of Premises) Ordinance.

It aims to provide immediate financial relief to certificate holders whose businesses have been hard-hit by the epidemic and the Government’s social distancing measures.

About 580 clubhouses are operating with valid Certificates of Compliance.

As of today, 495 applications were received, of which 470 applications have been approved.

The Office of the Licensing Authority under the Home Affairs Department has started to disburse subsidies to successful applicants.

The application deadline for the scheme is May 18. Eligible certificate holders are reminded to submit their applications as soon as possible.
