The Police assured that they only intend to use the minimum level of force to control situations of disorder.

Police Public Relations Branch Senior Superintendent Kong Wing-cheung made the statement in a press conference today.

He said the Hong Kong Police Force has very strict guidelines on the use of force.

“If the protesters use a certain level of violence against our officers, then we will use the appropriate level of force. Along our spectrum of the use of force, we have a lot of different options.

“But I could assure you that we only intend to use the minimum level of force to control any kind of disturbances or disorder situations.”
