Gov’t heeds public opinion

June 27, 2019

The Government will take into consideration the aspirations, views and opinions from different sectors of the public, in particular young people.

Secretary for Security John Lee made the statement when meeting the media with Commissioner of Police Stephen Lo today.

Mr Lee said: “I hope everybody understands that Hong Kong is the home of each one of us. We all want to make it better.

“We hope that through what we do in these coming three years, we will let people understand the good intention of the Government to ensure that Hong Kong will progress in accordance with the aspirations and the wishes of the people.”

Regarding complaints about the Police, Mr Lee noted the Independent Police Complaints Council has a long-established system to monitor and scrutinise the investigations conducted by the Complaints Against Police Office.
