The Transport Department today reached an agreement with New Lantao Bus in opening up real-time arrival data of its bus routes.

The data is expected to be available via the Public Sector Information (PSI) Portal in the third quarter of this year. It is free of charge for the public and the industry.

New Lantao Bus is the third public transport operator after New World First Bus and Citybus to open up real-time data via the PSI Portal.

The department calls on other public transport operators to follow suit to keep up with the trend of open data to promote smart city development.
