The Highways Department has ordered the Mass Transit Railway Corporation to submit its report on the construction quality of the Hung Hom Station platform of the Shatin to Central Link as soon as possible.

It issued the order today after receiving notice from the MTRC that an incident report on the station has been delayed.

Director of Highways Daniel Chung asked the MTRC on May 31 to submit an incident report within a week. But the MTRC said it cannot submit the report until June 15 as it needs to collect information from the contractor.

The department today told the MTRC to submit the report as soon as possible and to ensure the load tests set to be conducted on the platform are reliable and comprehensive.

They should also be completed as soon as possible to ease public concern, and the MTRC should provide details on the independent expert it has engaged to conduct the tests.
