The Youth Development Commission is in the final stage of inviting members to join and expects to appoint them next month.

Chief Secretary Matthew Cheung made the statement today, saying 530 young people enrolled in the Pilot Member Self-recommendation Scheme for Youth will compete for three places in the commission.

He said many of them are of a high caliber and the final member list will be announced later.

The scheme will enhance policy co-ordination within the Government and provide more opportunities for young people to participate in policy discussion, he added.
