The Labour Department yesterday laid 34 summonses against ATV for not paying its staff from July to September, Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung says.
Mr Cheung told the media today that half of the summonses are against the company while the other half are against a director concerned.
Noting that the judicial proceedings have commenced, he will not comment further on the case.
Mr Cheung said the department is also investigating the alleged offences of outstanding wages for November and will seek legal advice from the Department of Justice.
The department takes a serious view of any wage offences and will institute prosecution if there is sufficient evidence, he stressed.
