The overwhelming response to the new Home Ownership Scheme phase is as expected, Chief Executive CY Leung says, adding the Government will strive to increase housing supply.
Speaking to the media before leaving for his Beijing duty visit today, Mr Leung said subsidised HOS flats can meet the needs of people who cannot afford to buy property in the private market amid surging prices.
Saying there is sufficient land supply, Mr Leung said it takes certain procedures to change land use and urban planning, and urged the community to support the Government's work in this regard.
On ATV's wage arrears, Mr Leung said the Labour Department will protect labour rights according to the law, adding the Government will handle the broadcaster's licence issue according to policies and legislation.
