Basic Law to be followed

Chief Executive CY Leung says the Central Government has all along supported the work of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Chief Executive according to the law, including the Basic Law.
 
Speaking to reporters in Jakarta today, Mr Leung said Central People's Government Liaison Office Director Zhang Xiaoming said several times Hong Kong has judicial independence and it is prescribed in the Basic Law.
 
He said the Chief Executive’s powers are provided for in the Basic Law and it is important to act according to the law.
