Secondary school classes to resume

October 05, 2014

Principal Assistant Secretary for Education Sophia Wong says classes at secondary schools in Wanchai and Central & Western districts will resume tomorrow.

She said at a press conference today the Education Bureau made the decision after considering the wishes of parents and students to resume classes, and the preparedness of schools and the learning needs of students.

She said schools in both districts are prepared to resume classes, while bus companies will provide alternative bus routes so students can get to school.

Ms Wong said the bureau will monitor the situation after secondary schools resume, and will strive to resume classes at other schools when traffic conditions allow.

Assistant Commissioner for Transport Albert Su said a special 40M bus route will travel from Queen's Road Central to Pokfield Road to allow students and teachers to get to schools near Caine Road and Bonham Road.

He suggested commuters transiting from the MTR can take the special bus at stops on Queen’s Road Central or D'Aguilar Street.
