The Centre for Health Protection was notified of a suspected Middle East Respiratory Syndrome case from noon yesterday to noon today, which tested negative for the virus in preliminary testing.
No confirmed case of MERS has been identified in Hong Kong.
In view of the latest situation in Korea, the centre urges people to avoid non-essential travel to the country and avoid unnecessary visits to healthcare facilities in places at risk for MERS.
