August 02, 2013
Financial Secretary John Tsang says his Wuhan and Changsha visit was very useful for grasping the trend of future development.

Speaking to the media at the airport upon his return today, Mr Tsang said he met leaders in the two cities to discuss future development, opportunities and challenges.

He also visited key enterprises, especially hi-tech application industries, to boost their co-operation with Hong Kong.

He met Hong Kong people working there to learn more about their life, and how the Hong Kong Government can help them.

When asked about the resignation of the Political Assistant to the Secretary for Development, Mr Tsang said he respected the personal decision.

He said all civil servants and the Development Bureau will continue to spare no effort in serving the community, adding he believes the bureau will not be affected by the decision.

Earlier today, Mr Tsang met Hunan Governor Du Jiahao, and visited a key enterprise engaged in the manufacturing of central air-conditioning non-electric absorption chillers that are powered by waste heat.

Mr Tsang went to the Changsha National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone to see one of China's earliest national-level high-tech industry development areas.

He also visited a leading supplier of energy-saving and metering products, and an information technology company involved in cultural, education and software development projects.
