Taiwan's authorities and political parties should not interfere in Hong Kong affairs.
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government issued the statement today in response to remarks made by Taiwan authorities and political party members concerning the qualifications of Hong Kong legislators.
The statement noted since Hong Kong's return to the Motherland it has been exercising a high degree of autonomy and "Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong" in accordance with the Basic Law.
This demonstrates the successful implementation of the 'one country, two systems' principle, which is widely recognised.
