Speaking to the media after the election, Electoral Affairs Commission Chairman Justice Barnabas Fung said he is satisfied with the smooth voting and counting process, fulfilling the poll's open, fair, and honest principle.
He said a report will be submitted to the Chief Executive within three months, reviewing the electoral procedure and arrangements.
When asked about the number of invalid ballots, Mr Fung said the results of only valid votes can be provided today, because it takes time to examine invalid ones. A detailed analysis will be published in the election report.
Mr Fung added that electors queuing at a polling station before 10.30pm are allowed to vote. Entrance is denied once polling stations are closed at that time.
