HK String Quartet to play at City Hall

Get the strings singing: The Hong Kong String Quartet will perform a chamber concert on March 31 at City Hall.

The Hong Kong String Quartet formed by four Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra members will perform a chamber concert on March 31 at City Hall.

 

The group will showcase two chamber music works - Beethoven's String Quartet No. 6 in B-flat, Op.18 and Schubert's String Quartet in D Minor, Death and the Maiden.

 

The Quartet was founded in 1993 by First violinist Wong Sze-hang. The other three members are Second violinist Ni Lan, Violist Zhao Yu and Cellist Anna Kwan.

 

Devoted to the promotion of chamber music, the group has participated in and coordinated a number of concerts in the "Celebration of Hong Kong Performing Arts: A Tribute to the New Millennium".

 

It has also been the resident quartet of Tsuen Wan Town Hall, RTHK Radio 4 and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.

 

Presented by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, the concert will start at 8pm. Tickets are available at URBTIX outlets at $130 and $90.
