A lifeguard found the girl, aged six to eight, sitting on the beach about 10.35am and told Police.

Standing about 1.3 metres tall, the girl has short hair and was wearing a pink t-shirt with "Sweet" printed on it, and a pair of black trousers when found.

Police urge her relatives or anyone with information to call investigators on 2595 2254 or 2595 2200.
