Former restaurant supervisor Yip Kai-hung has been jailed one year by Eastern Magistracy for accepting $59,000 in bribes from three food suppliers.
The 47-year-old, formerly employed by Capital Seafood Restaurant, was responsible for its barbecue section.
In September 2004 he telephoned a supplier and solicited from him a bribe of $10 per box of pork and suckling pig ordered. The supplier deposited $15,900 into the defendant's bank or telebet accounts between November 2004 and February 2006.
During the same period, the defendant also accepted $20,030 and $23,050 from two other poultry suppliers as reward for placing purchase orders with them.
