Mainland man Zhou Renping has been jailed 15 months by Sha Tin Magistracy for bogus marriage.

The 44-year-old today pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to defraud and two counts of making a false representation to an Immigration officer.

On January 28, Zhou arrived in Hong Kong with a 90-day visa and declared that he was visiting his wife. He was detained and questioned. He later admitted to paying 50,000 renminbi to marry a local woman for convenience.
