A Mainland man has been jailed 18 months by Sha Tin Magistracy for bogus marriage.

Zhuang Hongxing, 21, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to defraud and three counts of making a false representation to an Immigration officer.

He was stopped at Lo Wu control point on January 11. He admitted paying $40,000 to get married in Hong Kong last September so he could get a 90-day visa to find work. He visited the city three times after getting 'married'.
