Police have charged four youths with 10 counts of accessing computers with dishonest intent.
Technology Crime Division officers mounted an operation in September to deter online game related crimes. It turned overt in December when they arrested the quartet, aged 15 to 18, after online game tokens or weapons were found to have been stolen. They were charged with 10 counts of accessing computers with dishonest intent.
The 18-year-old will appear in Tsuen Wan Magistracy on March 9, while the 15-year-old will appear at Kowloon City Magistracy on March 10. The other two, aged 16 and 17, will appear in Kwun Tong Magistracy on March 11.
Accessing computers with dishonest intent is a serious offence liable to five years' imprisonment upon conviction.
Police advise online game players to secure their account passwords and be vigilant when making transactions of online game tools with strangers.
The operation is on-going.
