The Independent Commission Against Corruption has arrested 22 people in the entertainment business, over allegations a number of artists were given preferential treatment in promotion activities.

Among those arrested were two senior executives and an employee of a broadcasting company; a chairman, two senior staff members and an employee of an entertainment company; the president, a senior vice-president and an artist from a record company; plus, five company directors and seven individuals.

It was alleged the record and entertainment companies might have offered advantages to the broadcasting company's senior executives for ensuring hits of some of their singers would be given favourable positions on the charts, and secure music awards.

During the operation, 26 additional people were interviewed. Investigations are continuing.
