    Action Committee Against Narcotics

    New chairman for narcotics body

    Action Committee Against Narcotics member Choi Yuen-wan has been appointed as its Chairman.

     

    Dr Choi was appointed for two years, along with five other new members. Meanwhile 12 existing members were reappointed for the same period.

     

    Dr Choi, the General Secretary of Breakthrough and the Youth Commission Chairman, is an expert in youth culture and service and has been a Committee member for six years. He succeeds Professor Lee Shiu-hung who has retired after serving on the Committee for eight years.

     

    The new members are Dr Lo Wing-lok, Scarlett Pong, Dr Wong Sing-wing, Henry Wu King-cheong and Wu Shuk-yin.

     

    Commissioner for Narcotics Clarie Lo said: "The experience and expertise of these members in their respective fields will surely give new impetus to the Committee and benefit its work in tackling the drug problem in Hong Kong."
