Police arrested 73 people in Mong Kok in an anti-vice operation in the early hours this morning.
The crackdown on vice activities in Mong Kok began at about 3pm yesterday and ended at about 2am. Mong Kok District and Special Duty Squad officers raided vice-related premises in the district, and arrested 71 women and two men.
Of the 71 women, 64 two-way permit holders from the Mainland, aged between 17 and 39, and a 20-year-old Thai woman, were arrested for breaching conditions of stay.
Of the remaining four were two overstayers aged between 19 and 23, a 22-year-old illegal immigrant and a 16-year-old woman arrested for using a forged document.
The Police also arrested a man, 20, who was an illegal immigrant, and another man, 28, for possession of dangerous drugs.
The Police are holding all the arrested people for enquiries.
A Police spokesman reiterated that regular operations would be carried out to eradicate vice-related activities.
