Show success: More than 500,000 visitors have toured the Hong Kong Pavilion and Urban Best Practices Area Exhibition.

The Hong Kong Pavilion and Hong Kong's Urban Best Practices Area Exhibition have received more than 500,000 visitors since World Expo 2010 Shanghai opened May 1.

The pavilion on the Pudong side is a popular destination, with an average of 10,000 visitors touring it daily. The total number of visitors in May was more than 317,000.

About 90% of visitors surveyed were satisfied with the guidance and services provided by the pavilion staff, and were generally happy with the overall arrangements.

Visitors have been especially impressed by the 3D movie on the ground level and favoured the specially designed souvenirs, including the environmentally friendly carrier bag and first-day cover.

More than 184,000 visitors saw the Urban Best Practices Area exhibition on the Puxi side in May. The number of visitors has been on the rise since the opening day, with a record high of more than 11,000 visitors on May 29.

The two displays welcomed more than 100 delegations from the Mainland, Hong Kong and overseas in one month, and received positive feedback from these distinguished guests.

Hong Kong Expo Affairs Office Commissioner Patrick Chan said he is pleased to see the visitor figures far exceed their original expectation. The team has worked hard to deal with the various challenges posed by such a high visitor volume.
