There are no government-imposed quarantine restrictions in the United Kingdom affecting travellers, including students, from atypical pneumonia-affected areas.

However, the British Consulate-General advises Hong Kong students and their parents to contact their schools before returning to the UK to start the summer term as some independent schools may have their own policies.

The Medical Officers of Schools Association in the UK said "there is no need to quarantine asymptomatic pupils merely because they have travelled to an affected region".
