Proposed road improvement works at Tim Mei Avenue to enhance the accessibility of the new Legislative Council Complex have been gazetted today.
The proposed works include:
* construction of a roundabout at the junction of Tim Mei Avenue, Lung Wui Road and Road D9;
* modification of a section of Road D9 into a two-way single road;
* provision of a U-turn facility at the southern end;
* conversion of an existing lay-by into a footpath;
* construction of a lay-by at the northern end of Tim Mei Avenue northbound;
* permanent or temporarily closure and reconstruction or modification of sections of carriageways, footpaths, refuge islands/central reserves and a lay-by; and
* drainage works and landscaping works, and provision of street lighting, traffic aids and railing.
It will start in 2010 and be completed in about nine months.
