The Centre for Health Protection today announced the year's fourth case of intestinal infection caused by the E.Coli O157:H7 bacterium, which involved a 13-month-old Yuen Long girl.

She fell ill on July 13 and was admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital the next day. Her condition is stable.

She has no recent travel history.

There were two cases both in 2008 and last year.
