Warning issued on cosmetic creams

Unsafe products: The Customs & Excise Department urges people not to use Santen cosmetic cream and LiLiki Whitening Day Cream (Cream 911) which contain mercury levels exceeding the permissible limit.

 

The Customs & Excise Department urges people not to use Santen cosmetic cream and LiLiki Whitening Day Cream (Cream 911) which contain mercury levels exceeding the permissible limit.

 

Santen was found to have a mercury content ranging from 29,000 to 40,000 parts per million, while LiLiki samples contained 5,600ppm to 16,000ppm. The national standard limit is 1ppm.
