New mission: Angus Cheng has been appointed Executive Director (Project Delivery) for the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority.

Angus Cheng has been appointed Executive Director (Project Delivery) for the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority.

Mr Cheng will be chiefly responsible for the district's planning and development, working directly under the Chief Executive Officer who is currently being recruited. He will help with the authority's day-to-day operations before the CEO assumes the position.

He has more than 20 years' experience and expertise participating in major development projects. He has held managerial positions in Goldman Sachs (Asia), Walt Disney Imagineering Hong Kong, Euro Disney, the Mass Transit Railway Corporation, Sino Land and Bouygues/Dragages et Travaux Publics.

His primary role will be to help formulate the district's development plan. He will be intimately involved in the public engagement process which will help shape the cultural district's development blueprint.

The authority will also recruit top-tier staff in the coming months, including five other executive directors responsible for museums, performing arts, marketing and communications, finance and human resources, as well as a legal counsel and an internal auditor.
