The Centre for Health Protection is investigating four influenza-like illness outbreaks involving 18 students aged three to 11.
Of the nine boys and nine girls, four came from HKTA Shek Wai Kok Primary School in Tsuen Wan, three from Singapore International School in Aberdeen, five from Canossa Primary School in San Po Kong and six from Cheung Sha Wan Kai Fong Welfare Association Lam Tam Yin Wah Kindergarten/Day Nursery. Health advice has been offered to the schools.
The Singapore International School case has been confirmed influenza-B related. Two Canossa Primary School students have been admitted to hospitals and they are positive to influenza-A. A Cheung Sha Wan Kai Fong Welfare Association Lam Tam Yin Wah Kindergarten/Day Nursery student has been hospitalised.
No report was received today under the influenza surveillance arrangement set up by the centre with hospitals.
