Rest in peace: The Cape Collinson Garden of Remembrance will accept applications for the free scattering of ashes from December 11. |
The new Cape Collinson Garden of Remembrance will accept applications for the free scattering of ashes from December 11, the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department says.
Situated in the Cape Collinson Crematorium, the 900-square metre garden merges with the natural environment with flowers and plants in a scenic and tranquil setting.
A wall has also been erected for mounting plaques in memory of the deceased. A memorial ritual can be arranged at the garden before ashes are scattered.
Applicants should bring the permit to take away cremated ash to the Cemeteries & Crematoria Section offices on Upper Ground Floor, 6 Cheong Hang Road, Hung Hom, or 1J Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley. Applications can also be made by post or fax. Approval will normally be given within seven working days.
There are eight gardens under the department's management. Visit the its website for details or call 2578 9406 for enquiries.
