The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed an imported case of Dengue fever involving a 36-year-old man living in Tuen Mun, bringing the year's total to five.

He travelled to Indonesia February 2 to 28. He came down with a fever and headache on March 2 and was admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital the following day. His condition is stable. Another person travelling back to Hong Kong with him has shown no symptoms.

People should stay alert to the threat of Dengue fever and take measures to curb mosquito breeding. Travellers should wear long-sleeved tops and trousers and use insect repellent. People who feel unwell after returning from their trip should seek medical treatment as soon as possible and provide their travel history to doctors.
