The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed an imported Dengue fever case involving a 35-year-old woman who developed fever, muscle pain and headache on August 8.

The patient travelled to the Philippines from July 22 to August 6. She was admitted to Tseung Kwan O Hospital on August 13 and discharged on August 19.

So far this year, all 21 Dengue fever cases in Hong Kong have been imported.

The Department of Health appealed to people, including travellers, to stay alert to the threat of Dengue and take all precautions to avoid mosquito bites.

Travellers feeling unwell after returning from their trip should consult a doctor as soon as possible and provide details of their travel.

The latest Dengue information can be found on the department's Travellers' Health Service website.
