Permanent Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food Carrie Yau will attend the China-ASEAN Entry-Exit Quarantine Management Meeting on SARS.
Hosted by the Mainland, the meeting will be held in Beijing on June 1 and 2 with a view to implementing the initiatives formed by the Special China-ASEAN Leaders' Meeting on SARS on April 29 in Bangkok.
Hong Kong representatives are taking part as members of the Chinese Delegation.
"I look forward to contributing to the prevention of the spread of SARS by sharing experiences on the quarantine measures adopted in Hong Kong," Mrs Yau said.
The Meeting also aims to co-ordinate and strengthen the entry-exit quarantine measures for preventing the spread of SARS among China and ASEAN countries, and to explore how best to reduce the impact of SARS on the movement of personnel and trade co-operation.
Mrs Yau will be joined by Deputy Director of Health Dr Lam Ping-yan, Senior Medical Officer of Department of Health Dr Henry Kong and Assistant Director of the Immigration Department Henry Siu.
