The Environmental Protection Department recorded 31 convictions in April for breaches of anti-pollution legislation.
There were 13 convictions for waste disposal, 11 for air pollution, four for noise, two for water pollution and one for violating the Ozone Layer Protection Ordinance.
The heaviest fine of $20,000 was meted out to a company for contravening its licence provisions.
