World record: The Wetland Park has set a new Guinness World Record for creating the world's longest painting.

The Wetland Park has set a new Guinness World Record for creating the longest painting in the world.

On October 17, to mark the start of the four-month World Wetlands Day 2010 - Bird Watching Festival, 2,041 students and members of the public gathered at the park to create the 959.35-metre long and 1.2-metre wide painting with the theme of Birds and Wetlands.

The park received the Guinness World Records certificate on October 30 that recognised its successful attempt for a new world record for the longest painting. It broke the previous world record of 599.94 metres set in Pune, India.

Part of the painting is on display at the park's entry plaza while the Guinness World Records certificate and highlights of the activity are shown at the viewing gallery's corridor.
