The Environmental Protection Department recorded 60 pollution convictions last month.

Among them, 34 were convictions under the Air Pollution Control Ordinance, 12 under the Noise Control Ordinance, 12 under the Waste Disposal Ordinance and two under the Water Pollution Control Ordinance.

The heaviest fine was $40,000, against a company that used powered mechanical equipment without a valid construction noise permit.
