Last month saw 38 convictions for breaching anti-pollution legislation, the Environmental Protection Department says.

Among the cases, 20 were related to air pollution, 14 related to noise, three related to waste disposal and one related to water pollution.

The heaviest fine was $50,000 assessed against a company that failed to take measures to control air pollutant emissions.
