Weather welcome: The HK Observatory will open to the public on March 20 and 21. |
The HK Observatory will open to the public on March 20 and 21 to celebrate World Meteorological Day on March 23.
This year, the day's theme is Weather, Climate & Water in the Information Age.
There will be an exhibition to explain the Observatory's work, and one of the attractions is a Simulated Forecasting Office where meteorologists will explain how weather forecasts are made.
Visitors can also take in the tranquil gardens of the Observatory headquarters from the vantage point of the balcony of the historical building erected more than 120 years ago.
It will be open from 9.30am to 4pm on both days. All are welcome and no tickets are required, but entry will be regulated if necessary.
