Water quality at two beaches rated 'good'

*
Environmental Protection Department

The Environmental Protection Department has rated water quality at Deep Water Bay and Clear Water Bay Second beaches 'good', while Golden and Silverstrand beaches are rated 'fair'.

The four beaches, that are open year round, are equipped with shark nets. Other beaches are closed for the winter season.

Seven gazetted beaches - Anglers', Approach, Ting Kau, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan and Lido - are closed to swimmers year round because of poor water quality. The public should not swim at these beaches.

Beach grades are published weekly before the weekend.  For details, visit the department's website at www.epd.gov.hk or call the hotline, 2511 6666.
