*

Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced today that Hong Kong's foreign currency reserve assets amounted to US$113.6 billion at the end of March.

In terms of foreign currency reserves ranking, Hong Kong is still the world's fifth largest holder, after Japan, the Mainland, Taiwan and Korea.

The total foreign currency reserve assets of US$113.6 billion represent nearly seven times the currency in circulation or about 44% of Hong Kong dollar M3, one of the highest ratios in the world.
