Joyful Fruit Day
Fruitful goal: The Joyful Fruit Day aims to help students and teachers cultivate a daily habit of eating fruit.

The Department of Health is inviting schools who want to join this year's Joyful Fruit Day to apply by April 10. The event aims to cultivate a daily habit of eating fruit in teachers and students.

As part of the EatSmart@school.hk Campaign which targets primary schools, the event has also been extended to secondary schools and pre-primary institutions this year. Students from about 810 schools and pre-primary institutions have already signed up.

Assistant Director of Health Dr Regina Ching said eating fruit - a good source of vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals - can improve our immunity and prevent diseases.

Pre-primary institutions can submit applications by fax at 3540 4153 while primary and secondary schools can register online. For technical support, call HKEdCity at 2624 1000 or send an email.
