Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung urges protesting bar benders to stay calm and exercise restraint, adding he hopes the workers will resume work as soon as possible.
The Labour & Welfare Bureau said the Government understands the workers' situation. Although the employers and employees have differences and the chance of reaching a settlement soon is not high, Mr Cheung and the Labour Department will continue to liaise with both sides and render assistance.
