Career guide: The Careers Guidance Handbook for Secondary 7 Graduates will be distributed to all secondary schools. |
The Careers Guidance Handbook for Secondary 7 Graduates, produced by the Education & Manpower Bureau and the Association of Careers Masters & Guidance Masters, has been published.
It provides a comprehensive guide to further education opportunities in the 2006-07 academic year for Secondary 7 graduates, giving them a better understanding of various progression pathways.
The bureau said the Government has been promoting multiple progression pathways in recent years to provide diversified study opportunities for students. Apart from the University Grants Committee-funded programmes, there are also self-financing post-secondary programmes, and professional and vocational training courses.
The handbook has details on various progression pathways provided by institutions, including self-financing post-secondary programmes, professional and vocational training courses, continuing education programmes and overseas study opportunities. The contact list of relevant organisations is also included, listing out contact methods of different educational and advisory organisations.
The handbook will be distributed to all secondary schools with S7 graduates, and are also available at the bureau's Regional Education Offices, the Labour Department's Careers Information Centres, Home Affairs Department Public Enquiry Service Centres, and at the Information Expo for Secondary School Leavers 2006 on July 29 and 30 at Plaza Hollywood in Diamond Hill.
Please also check out the electronic version of the handbook on the bureau's website, to be uploaded tomorrow.
