Labour Department

Most of the Labour Department's staff will move to a five-day week from July 1,  but  essential counter services remain unchanged on Saturdays.

Essential counter services include job centres, occupational health clinics and offices of the Occupational Medicine Unit. They will remain open on Saturdays.

All back offices, offices providing in-house professional and administrative services and branch offices will be closed on Saturdays, and the weekday office hours will be extended by 45 minutes to 6.15pm.

The department will continue to provide conciliation services for labour disputes and conduct industrial accident investigations outside office hours.

The electronic services, 24-hour hotline 2717 1771, and 1823 Citizen's Easy Link will also continue to serve the public round the clock.
