Concert promotes English through folk music

*

Eight-hundred Primary 4, 5 and 6 students participated in a concert today sharing with their Mainland counterparts the beauty of English folk songs familiar to many Hong Kong people.

Speaking at the concert, Standing Committee on Language Education & Research member Tony Choi encouraged students to learn through the use of the universal languages of English, music and art.

Led by pop idol group at17, students sang a medley of I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head, Country Roads and Vincent. Famous composer and the activity's adviser Mahmood Rumjahn also took part.

The students then sang and painted school bags, which will be donated to children in Yunan Province as a token of goodwill through World Vision China.
