The Education & Careers Expo 2006 will be held at the Convention & Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai from February 23 to 26.

A total of 489 exhibitors including government departments, public bodies, professional associations, vocational training bodies and private enterprises will take part in the event.

They will provide career information such as entry requirements, job prospects and promotion opportunities in different trades and industries as well as local and overseas educational opportunities.

A special counter and a seminar on the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme and the Youth Work Experience &Training Scheme will be arranged by the Labour Department at the expo.

Young people are encouraged to enrol on the spot in one of the schemes to receive pre-employment training or to gain work attachment experience.

Careers seminars will also be organised and some experienced practitioners from various professions will talk about the latest developments in their trades and share their experiences.

The expo will run from 10.30am to 7pm on February 23, 10am to 7pm on February 24 and 25, and 10am to 6pm on February 26. Admission is free.
