Secondary 6 admissions to start
*

The 2005 Secondary Six Admission Procedure will begin August 10 after the Certificate of Education Examination results are released. Some 25,000 S6 places will be available.

A central hotline (2863 4714, 4715 and 4722) will come into operation between August 8 and 17 for enquiries about the admission procedure. Students can also read the Careers Guidance Handbook for Secondary Five Graduates 2005-06 online for more information.

The five-stage admission procedure will end August 13. For details, click here. To help students apply for other schools, the Education & Manpower Bureau has S6 vacancy information here and on 1835 900.

S6 vacancy information will also be displayed at all regional education offices. All secondary schools are urged to make their vacancy information available to students for reference.

Admission centres

Eight joint admissions centers will be set up for schools in Tai Po, North, Sai Kung, Sha Tin, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, Tsuen Wan, Kwai Tsing and Islands Districts. Click here to read details of admission arrangements.

This year the scores for the Career Oriented Curriculum courses will be counted for central allocation at stage five of the S6 admission procedure.

Twenty-six schools will count Career Oriented Curriculum scores of their students at stages one and three in their admission, 14 of which will count scores from stages one to four. For the list of schools, click here.

In case of bad weather, the S6 Admission Procedure may be postponed. Special arrangements for the affected stages of the procedure will be announced through radio and television broadcasts.
