The Labour Department will stage a two-day 'Job Fair for Tertiary Education Graduates' from Wednesday, with 60 companies offering more than 1,800 jobs for tertiary education graduates, and about 1,000 for those below that level.

The fair will be held from 11am to 6pm at the Exhibition Gallery, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library, Causeway Bay. Admission is free.

Thirty companies will set up recruitment booths on each day of the event, covering sectors such as banking and finance, retail, catering, hotel, tourism, logistics, information technology, telecommunications, property management, manufacturing, import and export trade and business services.

There are a variety of positions, such as customer service officer, management trainee, administrative assistant, assistant human resource officer, assistant marketing manager, assistant property manager, deputy shop manager, operation manager, engineer and programmer.

Most of the positions offer a monthly salary ranging from $8,000 to $11,000. Job-seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews.

Career talks on employment opportunities of individual companies will also be held.

Special panels will be mounted to display vacancies solicited from other establishments.The department will also conduct on-the-spot job registration.
